Eli Finkelsztein, MD
Dr. Finkelsztein is originally from Bogota, Colombia, where he obtained his Medical Degree from the Universidad de los Andes. While in medical school he became interested in Infectious Diseases by conducting research on Chagas Diseases. After graduation, he moved to the United States to work as a Research Associate in the Weill Cornell Medicine laboratory of Dr. Augustine Choi, studying novel biomarkers and the pathophysiology of sepsis.
Dr. Finkelsztein completed Internal Medicine training at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, and subsequently Infectious Diseases fellowship at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. He currently lives in Ithaca, NY, working as an Infectious Diseases doctor at Cayuga Medical Center, and is a teaching attending in their Internal Medicine residency program. He also serves as a Tuberculosis Consultant for the Tompkins County Department of Health. Aside from his passion in clinical care and teaching, he enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family, and cycling.
